Congratulations to Meagan Majchszak, comment entry No. 110.

Meagan said in her entry:   “I compete in Three Day Eventing at training level, and I am looking forward to doing a Training Three Day (long format) next season! I would love to use Flair Nasal Strips to improve my mare’s performance during cross country, as well as to make her more comfortable and to make cooling out easier. I heard about the contest on USEA’s website!”

Many thanks to the USEA Blog, where Meagan heard about our latest contest!

Meagan’s winning number was randomly generated, as you can see by this screen-shot of the generation process.

    4. Tell us about any breathing issues your horse has (maybe we can help).
My horse was kicked in the throat as a weanling and now develops a lump while he eats and quite some time afterwards. It affects his breathing when I barrel race him and I’ve wanted to use FLAIR strips for some time now it just seems everytime I get the money rounded up to get them, I have a vet bill taking the money. I would absolutely love to win this contest!

I use Flair strips on one particular horse who makes a slight noise although deemed 100% fine by vets i want to feel like i am giving him every chance possible for it not to develop into an issue!

  12. Melanie McGee says:

I use Flair Strips on my top two barrel racing horses, Joker and Chance. Joker was diagnosed with asthma in March 2011, and Chance bled once last month, so I have been protecting them with Flair Strips ever since and plan to continue this practice especially during the summer 2012 rodeo run when we compete in some big, dusty arenas.

  13. Sophie A. says:

I’m a die hard eventer/fox hunter/cowgirl/dressage rider! I want to use Flair strips to keep my wonderful equine partners breathing and free of EIPH. Wheather we’re working cows, chasing a fox, of saluting at X, I know FLAIR strips will keep my horses going happy and strong no matter what we’re doing! I heard about this fabulous contest on Eventing Nation and I hope you’ll consider me for those 10 great FLAIR strip! Thanks a bunch!

  14. Lizzie S. says:

EVENTING! I’ve used flair strips on the past when running a horse at the preliminary level to give her an easier time of running around the course. The first time I used it was on a very long course that was very hilly and twisty. I felt like it gave her an extra boost and she did not get as tired as she would have, and she cooled out much faster too! I think they are a fantastic idea to give our horses more support to do their jobs!

  20. Samantha says:

I am an eventer and I use FLAIR strips to help my horse breathe better on XC and in SJ. I want to continue to use FLAIR strips as we go up the levels and keeping him breathing well becomes more and more important as we go faster for longer. My wonderful coach Lainey Ashker told me about the contest!

    PS: I’ve shared on FB!

    2. I use them on all of my horses for cross country. I can tell a huge difference on the horses that don’t wear them and on the horses that do. I would never ask my upper level horse to gallop out of the box without one. Especially great for those heavier Irish horses :D

I heard about this on Facebook.

    2) I use them to help my horse breath better! She snorts when she gallops so I use FLAIR strips to help open up her nasal cavity! We compete prelim so they really help with the longer, faster gallop to help her get more air!

  36. Tori says:

    Eventing

I’ve used FLAIR Strips on my upper level event horse who tends to make more noise while galloping on cross country. FLAIR Strips helped me make time at intermediate, and my horse had more energy at the end. They are a great product- decreasing lower airway resistance allows her to get oxygen more easily with each breath. I intend to continue using them in the upper levels once I graduated from vet school this spring.

  37. Molly B says:

I want to use Flair strips because all the pros use them and I want to give my gelding the opportunity to do his best on XC.

I head about this contest on EN.

  38. Laura says:

As an eventer, I know that it is important to do everything I can to make sure my horse is at the top of his/her game. I retired my last eventer 5 years ago, but I have been bringing along a young prospect that I look forward to competing soon. He gives me everything he has and then some during every training session. When I start conditioning him, I will defiintely have FLAIR there to prep him for his first run. Beginner Novice, or Advanced, I thnk all of our horses deserve the best from us for giving us their best. :)

He’s such a good guy he deserves the best.

    2. When I did the T3D in 2009 at the Hagyard Midsouth Team Challenge at the KY HP. FLAIR donated FLAIR Nasal Strips for us to try and gave a lecture on how the horse breaths and what is causing problems in the lungs and how to prevent breathing issues.
They were great! I will defiantly be using them to make breathing easier for my horse when he’s on XC (right now I have a young prospect that has UL potential)

I event an Irish sport horse, who is a bit of a heavy breather. I’ve been using flair for the last 3 or 4 years. I find that they help my horse to recover faster, and reduce the “rippling” effect when he is breathing heavy. Love my flair strips!

We compete in British Eventing and only compete ex race horses that we have retrained ourselves. We currently have novices up to International level. We would love to use FLAIR strips to enable our TB’s to perform at the top of their game in a sport that they love.

  67. When our stallion started bleeding after barrel racing, we researched everything, and nasal strips came up. Everything from EIPH to air way inflammation, to salt retention, and allergens are a factor. We live in a dusty climate, which doesn’t help. We would’ve to try the nasal strips to see help open up his airways when he runs! This in addition to our other treatment plans would be great! Thanks for great contest!

In my state, when a racehorse has pulmonary hemorrhage, no matter how mild, they have to be registered and cannot compete for a certain amount of time, there are all sorts of hoops to jump through. Long story short, I know my mare is at risk for pulmonary hemorrhage, I know Flair strips help prevent this, and anything I can do to make my horse more comfortable (and keep her that way) or to increase her performance, I want to do.
